DuBose Conference Center is an historical Episcopal camp, conference, and retreat center that offers hospitality, programming, and sacred space to groups of all faiths and backgrounds for education, creativity, and renewal.

Governed by an independent, 16-member Board of Directors, DuBose strives to provide care for our community and to bolster the important work of other nonprofits on and around the South Cumberland Plateau.

"As a church affiliated 501(c)3 nonprofit, DuBose is able to powerfully affect change in the religious and secular world. Located in one of the poorest counties in the country, the center is uniquely positioned to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate."

Outreach Efforts:

Fighting Food Insecurity

The DuBose farm-to-table garden program provides great food for Center guests, but it has a dual purpose: excess produce is routinely donated to local food pantries and the garden is used a teaching tool for schoolchildren and other educational workshops. This program is made possible through a generous commitment of outreach from St. George's Episcopal Church (Nashville) and with the many organizations and volunteers that support the DuBose Garden.

Supporting Community Nonprofits

Caring citizens and the hard work of nonprofits are what make a healthy community and robust economy possible. The behind-the-scenes part of this includes countless logistics meetings, program planning days, and volunteer trainings. DuBose Conference Center offers daytime, business-hour meeting & venue space at no charge for registered nonprofits in Grundy, Franklin, and Marion counties.

Housing Those Who Help Others

DuBose is partnered with the South Cumberland AmericorpsVISTA project to offer temporary, affordable accommodations to incoming members of the VISTA team while they are serving on and around the Mountain. Lodging in historic Claiborne Hall, the "3rd Floor Community" is a network hub for service members and provides a place for these generous individuals to hang their hat at the end of a long day.
